Class of 2009 Senior Slideshow
Thanks to all the seniors who submitted over six hundred photos for the slideshow! We wish we'd have been able to use them all, but we needed to whittle them down to three hundred for the sake of time and focus/quality of video.
We then scanned each one, made multiple mixes of songs for the soundtrack until we came up with the perfect one, sequenced the photos according to subject and student, uploaded it all to Animoto (dot com!) and then began the process of rendering. During that process, we discovered Animoto puts a ten-minute cap on all videos. Ours ran about seventeen. Argh!
So back to the drawing board we went, remixed the audio into two tracks, resequenced all the photos and then began the arduous task of re-rendering separate videos until we got the sequences down pat. After that it was easy - we downloaded each video and mixed the MPEG4 (Mac format for iPod, etc.) using Adobe Premier into one, full-length AVI format video which was shown at graduation.
Why is Mr. Janes babbling on and on about the technology behind this? So in case this caught any student's interest, it's a sly invitation to take a Computer Technology class in the fall!
