Greetings Stanton County! Fall is flying by, our fall athletic teams finished off successful seasons,
and basketball and wrestling has started. Please refer to our school calendar to see a list of our
activities taking place. We would love to have you come out and support the Trojans in
basketball and wrestling during our winter athletics season.
The Thanksgiving Food Boxes sponsored by USD 452 was a successful event that concluded on
Tuesday November 21st at Stanton County Elementary School. The event kicked off with a food
drive sponsored by Stanton County Elementary School. During the weeklong food drive, 1,845
food items were collected to fill the boxes. The campaign provided food to 64 families totaling
271 individuals from Stanton County. Additionally, there were numerous other supporters to the
campaign. A special thanks goes out to Seaboard Foods for donating pork roasts for the boxes.
Additional thanks goes to the other contributors which included, Stanton County Foods,
Johnson State Bank, Dream First Bank, Johnson Rotary, Wholly Cow Market, The Old Store, the
Johnson United Methodist Church, Floyd Law Office, Trenton Horn, Char Rogers, Bill Seyb,
Darrell Cockrum, Ward Nairn, Matt and Denae Hoyt, Diana Swenson, Lauren Mundell and
Andrea Jones. This campaign would not have been a success without the help of all the students
of Stanton County Elementary School and their families and the elementary school
ambassadors, the 6
th grade class, the Resist group members, Jayde and Jenna Jones and Gadier
Rascon. Additionally, The JH and HS Student Council members along with several high school
boys basketball players assisted as well. I also want to thank Dream First Bank employees Toni
Floyd, Jennifer Floyd, Lorenza Olivas and Tammy Brown-Tucker for their assistance with this
project. A special thank you goes to Char Rogers for coordinating and conducting this campaign!
She puts in a great deal of time and effort planning and coordinating this event. On behalf of
the faculty, staff, administration and board of education, I want to wish you all a happy holiday
season!
