Karlee Nairn drove in four runs on two hits to lead Stanton County Varsity Trojans
past Ness City 16-3 on Thursday. Nairn tripled in the second inning, scoring three runs,
and singled in the fifth inning, scoring one.
Stanton County Varsity Trojans won thanks in part to nine runs in the second inning.
Nairn was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Valeria Ortega singled, scoring two runs,
Sidney Parks hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Kaydence McCleary hit a sacrifice fly,
scoring one run, Ella Krier singled, scoring one run, and Nairn tripled, scoring three
runs.
Stanton County Varsity Trojans were the first to get on the board in the first when
McCleary doubled, scoring two runs.
Stanton County Varsity Trojans added to their early lead in the top of the third inning
after Parks singled down the left field line, and Krier hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one
run.
Parks earned the win for Stanton County Varsity Trojans. The starter allowed six hits
and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking one. #10
took the loss for Ness City. The starting pitcher went one and one-third innings, allowing
eight runs on four hits, striking out one and walking three.
Stanton County Varsity Trojans tallied 13 hits in the game. Nairn, Kynzi Fehringer,
Krier, Parks, and Ortega each collected two hits for Stanton County Varsity Trojans.
Allison Miravete led Stanton County Varsity Trojans with four walks. Overall, the team
had a strong eye at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Stanton County
Varsity Trojans were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Ortega
had the most chances in the field with four.

Kynzi Fehringer showed a strong eye at the plate on Thursday, as Fehringer walked
three times while leading Stanton County Varsity Trojans to a 19-3 victory over Ness
City.
Stanton County Varsity Trojans scored 11 runs in the first inning on the way to
victory. an error scored one run, Kaydence McCleary singled, scoring two runs, Ella
Krier drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, an error scored one run, a
wild pitch scored one run, Summer Kendrick singled, scoring one run, McCleary drew a

Parks drove the middle of the lineup, leading Stanton County Varsity Trojans with
three runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. McCleary led Stanton
County Varsity Trojans with two hits in three at bats. Fehringer led Stanton County
Varsity Trojans with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate,
collating 10 walks for the game. Fehringer stole two bases.
Coach Gary Kendrick felt the team played with a lot of enthusiasm, and focus. We
had some really great moments throughout the games. It was a great way to start off
the season.
